Church Management Software – Most Important Feature?

When choosing church management software, there are some important and yet very basic questions to ask.

  • What is being managed?
  • What is the primary goal?
  • How is success measured?

How is a church defined? As followers of Jesus, we look to His Word for the answer:

25 Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her …

30 Because we are members (parts) of His body.

Ephesians 5:25,30

The church is: followers of Jesus, members of His body, whom He loves. What is being managed? People. This is people management.

As Jesus is the Head of this group of people, and His goals are ours, we look again to Scripture for the answer.

37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

Matthew 22:37-40 NIV

The primary goal is relationship. Excellent relationships. People in relationship.
